During this PDW academic and industry experts will delve into the dynamic realm of FinTech and the nascent digital money market, with a particular focus on Africa's pioneering advancements in this market. We will contrast the learning from Africa with the experience from other contexts (e.g. Europe, Asia and North America). We will discuss topics such as: FinTech, Digital Money Market, Central Bank Digital Currency, Cryptocurrency, complementary currency, and Financial Inclusion.
Join us as we explore the implications and uncover opportunities for further research in the areas of strategy, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, innovation, and societal grand challenges.
Format
The first segment involves academic speakers and industry speakers, who will draw from their own experiences and research to delve into challenges and opportunities.
- Panel part 1: Insights from industry actors (with industry speakers)
- Panel part 2: Insights from research (with academic speakers)
The second part entails open conversations in small breakout discussions (Roundtable discussions).
Roundtable discussions
We will keep these roundtables open. The tables will be dedicated to creating proximity between the audience and panelists. Participants will be able to discuss topics that interest them (e.g. their research projects, explore new research avenues with practitioners) with the panelists.
