The Centre for African Smart Public Value Governance (C4SP) – a collaboration among researchers at Middlesex University Mauritius and the KPM Center for Public Management at the University of Bern (Switzerland) – invites scholars seeking to expand knowledge about twenty-first century governance practices in African contexts to join the conversation during its webinar series.

Having reflected on the concept of 'Public Value Governance' during the first webinar (see here),
C4SP now aims to shed light on the African context in further depth. By disclosing African institutions, cultural norms, and local particularities, C4SP strives to elaborate how the study of African public sector organizations can inform research in organization studies and public management; and thus expand theory development beyond a Western viewpoint.

Join our conversation on Wednesday, 21st of July (CET: 1 PM-3 PM | MUT: 3PM-5 PM | EST: 7 AM-9 AM) and discuss with our three speakers:

    • 'Far from Void: How Institutions Shape Growth in the Informal Economy' by Prof. Joel Bothello (Concordia University, CA)
    • 'An Assessment of Governance Performance in Africa' by Camilla Rocca (Head of Research at the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, UK)
    • 'Unpacking Africa-BRICs Relations: A Focus on Agency' by Folashadé Soulé, PhD (University of Oxford, UK)
