The
Centre for African Smart Public Value Governance (C4SP)
– a collaboration among researchers at Middlesex University Mauritius and the KPM Center for Public Management at the University of Bern (Switzerland) – is delighted to invite you to its third event in its 2021 webinar series on
'Smart Government' tacking place on the
20th October 2021 at
7am EST /
1pm CET /
3pm MUT.
While our inaugural webinar in April explored the topic of 'Public Value Governance', our second webinar looked at 'Unpacking the African Context'. We know want to highlight the 'smartness' alongside public values.
There is a myriad of enabling technologies that can help establish smart governments, but there remain many challenges and barriers to adoption. There is no doubt that having smart governance solutions can help to transform lives, whilst bring digital benefits. In our third C4SP webinar, we will have three experts discuss their views and help us explore the roadmap of smart government development in Africa.
We are delighted to share the line-up of speakers who will be addressing the theme from different angles on that day:
- Prof Tobias Mettler (University of Lausanne, CH): Smart Government - Where Did We Start and Where Are We Heading
- Prof Mogopodi Lekorwe (University of Botswana, BW): The Digital Divide and Implications for Smart Government in Africa - The Case of Botswana
- George Kalebaila (Huawei - Southern African Enterprise Government & Public Utility Development, ZA): A Purpose Driven Approach to Digital Transformation of Government
