Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs
Associate or Full Professor in the Leadership & Management Area

The Humphrey School of Public Affairs of the University of Minnesota seeks applicants for an
Associate or Full Professor position. We seek candidates who focus on public and/or nonprofit
institutions, organizations, or networks or the practices, processes, and people involved in
managing, leading, or working with or within the public and nonprofit sectors. Especially
    encouraged to apply are candidates who explore governments' and nonprofits' roles in society;
the practices and consequences of management, leadership, or governance to advance equity; the
nuances and implications of boundary work among organizations, across sectors, or between
institutions and their constituents; or other types of prosocial work. Successful applicants will
generate rigorous and relevant scholarship; teach, design, and deliver courses on public and
nonprofit management, leadership, or governance; and participate fully and collaboratively in a
public affairs school committed to training professional and doctoral students for public service,
advancing scholarship, and serving our communities. A social science background offering
institutional, political, or cross-cultural perspectives on organizations, management, leadership,
governance, or the critique thereof is highly valued. Candidates with professional or lived
experience of ongoing developments about management, leadership, or governance to advance
equity are especially encouraged to apply.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, beginning October 18, 2021. Position will
    remain open until filled.
Anticipated start date: August 29, 2022.

Interested potential applicants who would like to discuss the school and position are invited to

color, LGBTQIA+, women and members of historically underrepresented communities are
    highly encouraged to apply.

Within the Humphrey School our concept of creating a diverse community broadly encompasses
people with identities that have been historically marginalized in our society and
underrepresented in higher education and the realm of public affairs, particularly: people of
color; indigenous peoples; new immigrant populations; people with both visible and hidden
disabilities; women and people of all gender identities and expressions; and first-generation
    college students.

We also recognize issues of access and climate for individuals who might encounter barriers
based on their religious expression, age, national origin, ethnicity, or veteran status.
The Humphrey School is committed to creating, inviting, and welcoming individuals into an
environment where all people have an opportunity to learn and contribute. Within the Humphrey
School we seek always to include multiple and potentially divergent perspectives into a common
