    FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

    Baruch College, CUNY invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs starting August 2023, subject to final budget approval.

    This position is intended to support a new interdisciplinary faculty cluster – "Entrepreneurship and Innovation" – that will span Baruch's three schools: the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, the Weissman School of Arts and Science, and the Zicklin School of Business. Faculty will be expected to work collaboratively within and across the cluster (as well as new Climate Studies and Data Science clusters) and appropriate centers and institutes in order to strengthen the research base that already exists at Baruch, expand its academic programs, increase the career opportunities for its graduates, and enhance collaborations across CUNY.

    Expertise in social sector innovation at the intersection of public, nonprofit, and/or commercial enterprise (e.g., b-corps, hybrid organizations, commercial co-ventures, impact investing, social impact bonds, government contracting, public-private partnerships, etc.) is required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Applicants should have a PhD (or ABD) in entrepreneurship, innovation, management, psychology, public administration, public policy, sociology, or a related field. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue a rigorous research agenda in in the areas defined above, leading to publications in the top journals in their field, teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, and support the mission of CUNY through appropriate service to their department, school, college, and/or university.

    COMPENSATION

    $86,645-$99,532; commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    IMPORTANT NOTICE: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after October 1, 2022 City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after October 1, 2022 will only be eligible to enroll in the Emblem Health HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.

    After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period.

    If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.

    Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period. An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to Emblem Health. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by Emblem Health before the exemption is granted.
