Call for Submissions
About the PNP Division. The Public and Nonprofit Division (PNP) of the Academy of Management focuses on multidisciplinary, multi-method research on public and nonprofit organizations.
Relevant Topics for Submission. All topics relevant to PNP’s interests are welcome, including those related to organizational behavior, decision making, strategy, transparency and accountability, publicness, diversity and inclusion, human resource management, collaboration and conflict, public service and community building, performance measurement and management, public service motives, theories of governance and the social and ethical dimensions of public and non-profit activity. We are also interested in topics of organizational management, processes, social innovation/entrepreneurship, and performance as they relate to public, NGOs/nonprofit organizations. International perspectives and comparisons are encouraged. Submissions related to the 2016 Academy of Management Program theme, Making Organizations Meaningful, are particularly welcome. It is stated in the Academy of Management theme that “The meaningfulness of an organization is its expression of purpose, values or worth. It involves a sense of significance that goes beyond material success or profitability; rather, it highlights how organizations can play a larger and more positive role in the world.” This is particularly true for public and nonprofit organizations. Therefore, incorporating the concept of meaningfulness into your scholarly work is strongly encouraged.
Instructions for Submission. We seek completed papers and proposals for panels and symposia. The deadline for submissions is January 12, 2016 at 5:00 PM EST (NY Time). Only electronic submissions through the AOM submission system will be accepted.
