The salary information from Chronicle of Philanthropy is listed by individual organization and by sector. I don't remeber I saw the medians or means of CEO salaries.

>You might want to try the Chronicle of Philanthropy who publishes an annual survey that you might want to use as a source of information.
>Another source that may help is the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Many CEOs are members and they may do some kind of annual survey.

>Hi Jim & Rob,

>I worked for United Way of America before, conducting surveys including salary information. The information complied by Independent Sector seems to be outdated, for instance, four years old. The best source in terms of nonprofit CEO salaries is from Abbott, Langer & Associates (www.abbott-langer.com). The salary survey is conducted every year in a wide range of sectors of the nonprofit world. Abbott, Langer & associates also complies very detailed CEO salary information by the size of organization, region, sector, etc. This is the source that I used and compared against with the CEO salaries in the United Way system to generate reports.

>>Rob, For association executives, you might try ASAE (the American Society of Association Executives). For larger nonprofits, both grantmakers and charitable organizations, I'd suggest Independent Sector. jim gelatt James P.
