DEADLINE NOVEMBER 13TH - PLEASE SEND IN SUBMISSIONS SOON- DEADLINE NOVEMBER 13TH
SUBMIT TO NEIL BOYD AT BoydPDW@Lycoming

    Hi everyone,
Just a gentle reminder that PDW submissions are due soon for the PNP Division. This includes submissions for our Doctoral Consortium and Junior Faculty Consortium. Please review the call below regarding the PDWs we desire the most!!

2007 PNP Division Professional Development Workshops: Call for Proposals

The Public and Nonprofit Division (PNP) encourages creative proposals for PDW sessions that would
advance professional development knowledge at the 2007 Annual Conference in Philadelphia. These sessions
are scheduled between Friday 1 p.m. (8/3/07) and Sunday noon (8/5/07). We seek PDW topics that link to
the Conference theme of "Doing Well By Doing Good”.

In addition to our annual Junior Faculty Consortium and Doctoral Student Consortium, we are especially
    interested in seeking topics that:

    - Showcase our knowledge of “Doing Good” by exploring topical and current PNP issues (e.g. tsunami and Hurricane Katrina
    response and other “BIG” issues).

    - Review publication outlets and quality standards for journals that specifically address PNP issues and those that accept high
quality work irrespective of research context.

    - Explore mid-career issues, research method issues, or ones that explore statistical skills, advancing research for publication, and networking.

    - Review teaching topics and innovations in teaching.

Beyond the possibilities listed above, please submit other innovative ideas. All sessions can take a number of
formats: workshop, interactive panels, skits, debates, and tours -- in either a traditional or nontraditional
    format.

Collaborations between practitioners and academics are particularly welcome to build upon each other's
strengths. We also encourage designing sessions that other divisions may want to co-sponsor and/or coorganize.
Please submit your PDW proposal, including the name of the organizer(s) (with affiliation, mail,
phone, etc.) its title, brief description of the session, the expected outcomes to the participants, desired time
required, preferred date and time, anticipated target audience, room layout suggested, and A/V needs.

The deadline for proposals is Nov 13, 2006. Please submit the above information to the PNP PDW Chair:
    Neil Boyd at BoydPDW@Lycoming.
