The Harvard Kennedy School is conducting a search for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in the Fall 2015 semester in the broad fields of operations management and service delivery, with a particular emphasis on issues relevant to public and/or nonprofit organizations. In terms of teaching and research interests, we especially welcome candidates working on such topics as service delivery process design and performance measurement; the make-buy decision and contracting management; the management of information technology; and logistics/supply chain management. Candidates with other interests are also welcome to apply, with an explanation of how your teaching and research interests are relevant to managing operations in public and/or nonprofit organizations.
Qualifications for appointment include a distinguished Ph.D. record, strong evidence of a commitment to research, strong teaching skills, and an interest in research on operations issues related to the public and/or nonprofit sectorWe are particularly interested in candidates who take a behavioral approach to operations management, and candidates whose work is predominantly empirical (e.g. experimental/econometric/qualitative field work).
