    Prerequisite:

Students must be currently enrolled in a doctoral program and must be formally enrolled in this course. Extensive readings, presence for all hours of all days of the class, and active discussion participation are expected of all enrolled students. (Students who must leave at 4 p.m. for day care are automatically excused from the last hour of the class).

Professors Hockerts will assign some students roles as discussion co-leader or research presenter. All students are requested to submit a brief one page abstract of the thesis proposal as well as a draft for a paper that they are considering submitting to a journal. The latter will be used in the feed-back session.

    Aim of the course:

In the world of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) we are seeing a move from what might be termed operational CSR towards a more strategic vision of CSR in which Social Innovation plays a key role. It is the intention of this PhD workshop to bring together doctoral students from different disciplinary backgrounds to help understand each others' research approaches and to explore commonalities as well as differences in their work. The four day workshop will use topical lectures as well as feed-back on individual thesis projects in small groups. Furthermore, there will be sessions on research methodology and publication strategy.
