    News from the Maxwell School Collaborative Governance Initiative

    The Maxwell School of Syracuse University Collaborative Governance Initiative (CGI) is pleased to announce the winners of the second annual collaboration teaching case and simulation competition.   Cases and simulations are available free on-line at www.maxwell.syr.edu/parc/eparc and www.e-parc.org

    New $5,000 First Place Winners

    Danielle M. Varda, University of Colorado Denver:  "Strategic Network Management in a Community Collaborative: A Simulation"

     

    Jodi Sandfort, Catherine Eichers Penkert , and Nicholas Dobbins, University of Minnesota:  "Kujichagulia:  Actively Building a Public-Nonprofit Community Partnership"

     

    New $1,000 Honorable Mention Winners

     

    David E. Booher and Adam Sutkus, Sacramento State Center for Collaborative Policy:  "Emergency Management & Homeland Security"

     

    Thomas A. Bryer and Kristin N. Stewart, University of Central Florida:  "Developing a Young Professionals Network for the Arts"

     

    Alma Lowry, The Maxwell School of Syracuse University:  "Revising the Worker Protection Standards: Negotiated Rulemaking Exercise"

     

    Donald P. Moynihan, University of Madison-Wisconsin:  "Collaboration Amid Crisis: The Department of Defense During Hurricane Katrina"

     

    Stephen Page and Denise Rodriguez, University of Washington:  "Elusive Community in South Park"

    Last Year's Winning Cases and Simulations Translated Into Chinese and Spanish

    Last year's winning cases and simulations on collaboration have been translated into Chinese and Spanish.  They also are available on the CGI website ( www.e-parc.org and www.maxwell.syr.edu/parc/eparc ) along with winning syllabi for courses in networks and collaborative public management.
