  • 1.  Call for Nominations - PNP Best Dissertation Award

    CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

    Best Dissertation Award

    Dear Colleagues,

    The Best Dissertation Award Selection Committee for the Public and Nonprofit Division of the Academy of Management is requesting nominations for the division's 2008 Best Dissertation Award.  As you know, this is an outstanding opportunity to honor important academic work and high quality intellectual contributions to the field.  The committee includes Michael McGuire (Indiana University), Steven Maynard Moody (The University of Kansas), and Rosemary O'Leary (Chair – The Maxwell School of Syracuse University).

    This prestigious award is sponsored generously by Jossey-Bass publishers.  Dissertations defended January 1, 2008-December 31, 2008 are eligible for this award. (NOTE: any dissertations considered by last year's committee for the 2007 award may not be submitted for reconsideration).

    At the Academy of Management national meetings in Chicago August 7-11, the winner will receive a plaque recognizing the award, as well as awards of $250 in books from Jossey-Bass and a $100 check from the Division.

    Nominators should send each committee member  a hard (paper) copy of the nominated dissertation, plus with a letter of nomination by a faculty member outlining the distinctive strengths of the work.  Email copies will not be accepted. 

    Nominations must be postmarked by February 28, 2009.  (Submissions from outside the United States should be mailed early enough so that we will have them by the beginning of March.)

    Dear Colleagues,

     

    The Best Dissertation Award Selection Committee for the Public and Nonprofit Division of the Academy of Management is requesting nominations for the division's 2010 Best Dissertation Award.  This is an outstanding opportunity to honor important emerging scholars' academic work and high quality intellectual contributions to the field. 

     

    This prestigious award is sponsored generously by Jossey-Bass publishers.  Dissertations defended January 1, 2010-December 31, 2010 are eligible for this award. (NOTE: any dissertations considered by last year's committee for the 2009 award may not be submitted for reconsideration.)

     

    At the Academy of Management national meetings in San Antonio, Texas (August 12-16), the winner will receive a plaque recognizing the award, as well as a generous award from Jossey-Bass publishers.

     

    Nominators should send four hard (paper) copies of the nominated dissertation (e-mail copies will not be accepted) plus with a letter of nomination by a faculty member outlining the distinctive strengths of the work to Sue Faerman at the following address:
