This workshop aims to provide professional development to researchers and practitioners who are interested in co-producing knowledge for action through the use of Narrative Inquiry, Cooperative Inquiry, and Ethnography. Researchers and practitioners who worked together as co-researchers will share their experiences of using these methods in the Research and Documentation (R&D) Component of the Leadership for a Changing World Program (LCW) (www.leadershipforchange.org).

The <st1:placename w:st="on">Research</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Center</st1:placetype> for Leadership in Action (RCLA) at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">New York</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype></st1:place>'s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service (http://www.wagner.nyu.edu/leadership/) leads LCW's multi-year R&D effort to generate new insights about leadership by drawing on lessons of leadership practice from social change leaders and their organizations and communities. The workshop endeavors to open a discussion with researchers and practitioners about the value of these methods for surfacing new insights about leadership, and to discuss ways to get the most out of these methods for all parties involved. Specifically, the panelists will focus their conversations on research design and implementation, co-researcher relationships, working effectively in the field, and co-producing dissemination products.

The workshop will be co-presented by researchers from RCLA and practitioners from the LCWprogram who have participated in co-research activities with RCLA.

In order for this workshop to take place, we will need a critical number of participants. Please RSVPfor this workshop by July 17, 2006 by phone or email to Angie Chan, LCW Program Coordinator, at (212) 998-7552 or angie.chan@nyu.edu.
