    Organizational Studies in Healthcare

    Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health is inviting
    applications for a tenure track faculty position in Organizational Studies
    in Healthcare at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the
    Department of Health Policy and Management, beginning January or September
    2007.

    We seek a candidate who conducts research on organizations focusing on the
    delivery of healthcare services, on healthcare systems, on health care
    providers, or on the healthcare insurance industry, including nonprofit
    studies. The successful candidate should have a record of publication in
    this area and demonstrated potential for obtaining grant funding for
    research. Responsibilities will include teaching at the graduate level,
    conducting research, developing external grant support and collaborating
    with other faculty members of the Department, School, and University.
    Teaching responsibilities may include courses such as organizational
    behavior, strategic management, or complex organizations. Qualified
    applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in health
    services research, organization studies (broadly defined), sociology,
    political science, policy sciences, public administration, or a related
    area.

    The Department of Health Policy and Management is a multidisciplinary
    faculty that trains Masters and Doctoral level students. We maintain close
    ties with Columbia's Graduate School of Business, Graduate School of Arts
    and Sciences, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and School of
    International and Public Affairs, and with many New York area health care
    delivery and research institutions.

    Public Management/Policy Analysis Position, 2009-2010

     

    The Department of Public and International Affairs at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">North Carolina Wilmington</st1:placename></st1:place> invites applications for a position as a tenure-track assistant professor to teach classes in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program and undergraduate classes as needed.  Position starts August 2009.  An earned doctorate in Public Administration, Public Affairs, Public Policy, or a closely related field is preferred, but ABDs will be considered.  An M.P.A. and/or prior professional experience in public or nonprofit policy or management are desirable.  The successful candidate must be willing to teach classes in quantitative methods and be able to contribute by teaching courses in the core curriculum (e.g., public management, policy analysis, budgeting and finance, or human resource management) or courses in our concentrations in coastal planning and management, environmental policy and management, marine policy, urban and regional politics and planning, nonprofit management, or public management.  Additional information about the MPA program can be found at http://www.uncw.edu/pls/mpa/
