Seven Award-Winning Cases and Simulations Published by E-PARCC

Seven new teaching cases and simulations are available free for download at E-PARCC.org. E-PARCC is a collection of online resources offered by the Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration (PARCC) at the Maxwell School. The site houses more than forty cases and simulations designed for those who teach collaborative public management, networks, governance, and/or problem solving. All resources can be downloaded free of charge, and many are available in English, Spanish, and Chinese.

Collaborative public management, networks, governance, and problem solving have become essential topics in most public management and public policy programs. Many educators find that using case studies, simulations, and negotiation exercises is one of the best ways to prepare students for a collaborative world.

Each year, new cases and simulations are selected through a peer-review process as part of E-PARCC's annual competition. In 2013, the competition details will be announced early in the Fall, and applications will be due by March 2014.

Educators who use E-PARCC can browse the entire collection of teaching cases and simulations by policy area (e.g., economic development, education, health, information management), setting (local, state, regional, national, international), and sector (government, nonprofit, etc.). This new feature of the E-PARCC site allows visitors to readily identify which resources are most pertinent for their students. An online "comments" feature allows users share ideas and questions about the resources.
