Position Qualifications/Responsibilities: KSU's Department of Social Work and Human Services invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track position. The Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work and Human Services will teach undergraduate courses in the Human Services major with a focus on nonprofit administrative studies. S(he) will also mentor undergraduate students, assist in the accreditation of the Human Services degree program, and serve on departmental and university committees. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong teaching, research, and community engagement/leadership in human services and nonprofit administration, adequate for appointment to the faculty rank. This position is a nine-month tenure-track appointment that reports to the Department Chair. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Education, Experience and Skills: Minimum qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Nonprofit, Business, or Public Administration/Management, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited university or the foreign equivalent. In addition, the candidate must have a record of accomplishments in scholarship, teaching and service that are commensurate with the faculty rank. Ideal candidates will provide evidence of: (1) substantial human service practice experience; (2) leadership and practical experience in nonprofit administration; (3) an established research agenda; (4) willingness to engage in funded and applied research; (5) strong teaching performance, preferably at the undergraduate level; (6) collegiality and effective teamwork; and (7) experience teaching and working with culturally and ethnically diverse populations.
