New Teaching Simulation and Cases Published through E-PARCC
Three new award-winning teaching resources are available through E-PARCC.org, a collection of online cases and simulations offered by the Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration (PARCC) at the Maxwell School. E-PARCC houses dozens of cases and simulations designed for those who teach collaborative public management, networks, governance, and problem solving, topics that have become essential in most public management and public policy programs. Many educators find that using case studies, simulations, and negotiation exercises is one of the best ways to prepare students for a collaborative world.
Each year, new E-PARCC cases and simulations are selected as part of an annual competition through a peer-review process. The 2014 winners are:
FIRST PLACE
FlashPoint: Syria, 2014 - An International Conflict Management Simulation, by Noam Ebner (Werner Institute, Creighton University Law School), Yael Efron (Zefat College School of Law, Israel), and Nellie Munin (Zefat Academic College)
SECOND PLACE
When a Highway Divides a City: Improving Decision Making in Syracuse, New York, by Jack Becker (Maxwell School, Syracuse University)
THIRD PLACE
New Funding, New Beginnings: To Collaborate or Not to Collaborate, by Khaldoun AbouAssi (Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A&M University) and Catherine Herrold (Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, Indiana University)
