The Association for Middle Eastern Public Policy and Administration (AMEPPA) is the first professional association for public governance in the Middle East. AMEPPA's membership is drawn from professionals in the region and those who work on the region who share a commitment to improving governance in the Middle East.

AMEPPA is planning its inaugural conference, to be held in Rabat, Morocco, November 8 and 9, 2012. The conference, intended for both academics and practitioners, will address how to improve governance in the region and the implications of the Arab Spring for more accountable and responsive governance.

We are encouraging people to submit a paper abstract for the conference and to help us spread the word on the conference by forwarding this message to colleagues with an interest in the Middle East.  Scholars are encouraged to submit their proposals to the conference co-chairs, Dr. Jennifer Bremer at jbremer@aucegypt.edu and Dr. Mohamed Harakat at harakatmohamed@yahoo.fr no later than August 31st, 2012.

The call for papers as well as additional information on the conference and other AMEPPA activities can be found on the AMEPPA website (http://www.ameppa.org).
