    List members may be interested in this Call for Papers for an upcoming Special Issue of International Journal of Public Sector Management (IJPSM)

     

    Corporate Governance, Accounting and Accountability of State-Owned Enterprises and Agencies at Local, National and Regional Level: Taking Stock and Next Steps in Theory and Practice

     

    Deadline for submission to the special issue: 30 April 2015. Publication is scheduled for the last issue of 2015. Early submissions and announcements to submit a paper are encouraged.

    Ulf Papenfuß (Leipzig University)

    Marie-Soleil Tremblay (École Nationale D'administration Publique)

    We invite theoretical, empirical, comparative, and review papers, whether quantitative or qualitative, from scholars across disciplines on the following issues affecting (corporate) governance, accounting and accountability of state-owned enterprises, agencies and or outsourced public organizations with relevance for public sector governance. Research on all government levels is needed, however an important gap at the local government level is apparent in this field and we encourage researchers to direct their attention to this arena. Some possible topics include, but are not limited to:

     

    • Impact of corporate governance structures, holding structures, mechanisms and reforms on accountability and performance in SOEs and agencies
    • Models of corporate governance
    • Trust, contract and control of SOEs
    • Board professionalism
    • Board dynamics and independence
    • Gender diversity in the board and top-management
    • Regulation and self-regulation (soft law)
