The MPAC Trustees invite you to submit a proposal for the 2017 Midwest Public Affairs Conference. We are proud to announce that this year's event will be run concurrently with the Social Equity Leadership Conference (SELC) and the Teaching Public Administration Conference (TPAC). Individual presentation, panel, roundtable and workshop proposals are welcome on all topics in public affairs, and we actively encourage submissions from faculty, practitioners and students.
MPAC 2017 examines the rising complexity of public problems. Nearly two decades into the new millennium, scholars and practitioners face unprecedented challenges in addressing issues of changing workforce demographics, healthcare affordability, environmental sustainability, social equity and inclusivity - to name a few. Responsibility for solving these problems has increasingly fallen to governance networks tasked with the co-production of public services, changing the nature of government authority and accountability. This conference challenges us to explore these problems, the alternatives for addressing them and the effectiveness of their implementation.
MPAC & TPAC registration fees are combined; $150 for academics and practitioners, $75 for students. Registration includes lunches and receptions during the conference. Please see each organization's website for details on their submission processes; more information on the event will be available from our website, and posted on our Twitter and Facebook accounts.
The Midwest Public Affairs Conference (MPAC) is an ASPA-affiliated nonprofit organization that promotes research, collaboration and socialization between academics, policymakers, practitioners, and students. Please be sure to check out our affiliate publication, the Journal of Public and Nonprofit Affairs.
