    Government Outcomes Lab (GO Lab) Scholarship 

    The Blavatnik School of Government (BSG) at Oxford University, together with the UK Cabinet Office, is pleased to announce two fully-funded doctoral scholarships for which applications can be made immediately (the closing date for doctoral applications to the Studentship is 30 June; http://www.bsg.ox.ac.uk/study/dphil/bsg-funding-options-dphil-students). 

    The scholarship holders will undertake applied research on the use of outcomes-based commissioning models in local and national government, including in the United Kingdom. Topics might include: the definition, use, and limitations of outcomes in social policy;  the uses and uptake of Social Impact Bonds (SIBs) and other forms of performance-based contracting;  effective contracting by the public sector of the private and not-for-profit sectors, and how to enhance their respective capacities better to deliver social outcomes; effective inter-agency collaboration in local government; and, the broader policy constraints and opportunities. 

    We welcome applications from candidates from across different disciplines, including: Economics (including behavioural economics), Public Management and Administration, Law, Social Policy, Statistics, Evaluation, and beyond.  The successful candidate will have an outstanding academic record, including proof of excellent research and writing ability, and an ability to undertake practice-focused research.
