The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences invites applications for a
JUNIOR PROFESSORSHIP (W1) IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION WITH A FOCUS ON PUBLIC MANAGEMENT
commencing on 1 August 2015, Ref. No. JP 225
Applicants are expected to have international research experience as well as experience of externally funded research projects. The University places particular emphasis on the quality of teaching and therefore requests that applicants provide details of their teaching experience and objectives. University of Hamburg seeks to increase the proportion of women in teaching and research and therefore especially encourages qualified female academics to apply. Section 14 (3) sentence 3 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act (HmbHG) applies.
Tasks:
Responsibilities include involvement in interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate courses taught in the Department of Socioeconomics. The successful candidate is expected to participate actively in the key research areas of the Department of Socioeconomics and/or the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences. Section 12 (7) sentence 2 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act (HmbHG) applies.
Requirements:
Applicants must fulfill academic qualifications and further requirements as specified in §18 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act (HmbHG). Applicants should have an above-average academic record in the field of public management. These include successfully completed studies in the field of business administration, teaching ability, and academic aptitude as demonstrated by a doctoral degree (summa cum laude) in the field of public management. A quantitative-empirical orientation relevant to both public administration and public enterprise is also desirable. Applicants are expected to have published in relevant, internationally renowned journals. Experience abroad is of advantage. Qualified disabled candidates receive preference in the application process.
