    Dear Colleagues,

     

    Institute of Administrative Sciences, University of the Punjab is holding an international conference on "Governance, Management & HR: Strategic Directions" on March 20th – 21st, 2018 at Pearl Continental, Lahore. The conference aims to bring together 300+ academics, professionals, practitioners and students for academic conversation and scholarly dialogue on the strategic directions that governance mechanisms in the public sector, management of organisations and human resource management practices take due to the peculiarities in the culture and context of countries in Asia and beyond, especially in light of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor – CPEC. (Call for Abstracts attached).
     
    The conference invites theoretical, conceptual and empirical submissions that address the following themes with special reference to governance, management and human resource practices. Potential avenues of exploration include, but are not limited to the following themes:

    Potential authors are invited to submit an extended abstract of 500 words to conf2018@ias.edu.pk in Word (.docx) format with the email subject "Conference Abstract". The abstract should include title of the proposed paper, overview of the main argument, key literature, research methods, research findings and their theoretical and practical implications. Deadline for submissions is 7th January, 2018.
     
    The proceedings of the conference will be published with an ISBN number. Selected papers from the conference would be given the opportunity to be published in our research journal "Governance and Management Review (GMR)" without any additional cost. The selected articles would have to undergo the reviewing process of the journal after which the article would be published. Details about the journals scope and author guidelines can be viewed on the journal page http://pu.edu.pk/home/journal/37.
     
    The conference precludes a full-day colloquium for PhD Students in the field of management to share and discuss their thesis ideas and preliminary research. The colloquium is limited to 35 students, who will be submitting their proposal by 7th January, 2018which will be reviewed by several senior faculty members. It will provide doctoral researchers with an exciting opportunity to present their work-in-progress, and receive feedback from peers, and distinguished academicians, as well as to network with other PhD scholars.
     
    Please circulate the Call for Abstracts among your faculty members and research staff. Moreover, also encourage PhD Students working within the discipline of management at your institution to register for the PhD Colloquium and the Conference to gain valuable feedback.(Call for Abstracts attached).
