Reminder: Upcoming Deadlines for Reviewing, and Submitting Papers and Symposia Proposals

    ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT 2007 MEETING

    PUBLIC AND NONPROFIT DIVISION

The Academy of Management national meeting will be held in Philadelphia this year from August 3 – 8. The theme for the 2007 conference is "Doing Well by Doing Good". There are many ways in which you can become involved. The deadline for submissions to the 2007 meeting is January 15th.

Be a Reviewer! You could give no nicer holiday present than the gift of reviewing to work of your friends and colleagues. Go to http://review.aomonline.org/ to sign up to be a reviewer. You MUST sign up electronically in order to be a reviewer as all papers for review are distributed electronically through one system. You do not need to be a member of the Academy to be a reviewer. We are a little short of last year's mark for the number of reviewers. So please sign up!

Submit a Paper! The Academy requires that you submit a complete paper by the submission deadline of January 15th. Papers should be submitted to the following site: http://submissions.aomonline.org/. This site also has instructions for the format of papers that should be submitted. The one advantage of submitting a complete paper is that you will also get reviews of that paper. The submissions website is now open so please feel free to submit your papers early before the deadline!

Submit a Symposium Proposal! If the prospect of working up a paper by January 15 is knocking the holiday spirit out of you then you can also submit a symposium proposal. These proposals can also be submitted at http://submissions.aomonline.org/. You can do a presenter symposium (where there is a title associated with each presentation) or a panel symposium (where the panelists are involved in an interactive discussion and no titles are associated with any panelist's participation). Check the submissions website because there are format and content requirements for symposia proposals.

Distribute this Announcement! We welcome contributions of papers and symposia from members outside the Academy membership. So share this announcement you're your colleagues and students. The conference also has wonderful Professional Development Workshops. The Public and Nonprofit Division is conducting workshops specifically designed to serve the professional development needs of doctoral students as well as a workshop designed for junior faculty members.

I look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia!
