Penn State Harrisburg's School of Public Affairs invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Public Administration effective Fall Semester 2016. The School seeks a scholar with teaching and research interests in Organization Theory/Behavior and Human Resource Management. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in Public Administration or a related discipline and must provide evidence of, or the potential for, excellence in scholarly research. Experience in online asynchronous education is desirable but not required. The primary teaching assignment is in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Ph. D. programs. The MPA is offered both in-residence and online. The Ph. D. program is residential only. Penn State Harrisburg is home to the only graduate program in Public Administration offered at The Pennsylvania State University. The program is NASPAA accredited and nationally ranked. The School also offers graduate and undergraduate programs in Criminal Justice, Health Administration, Homeland Security (online only), Public Policy, and Political Science, and a joint JD/MPA program. The School of Public Affairs has an enrollment of about 1200 students in various majors and 30 full-time faculty. The College offers programs leading to more than 65 associate, bachelors', master's, and doctoral degree programs. Penn State Harrisburg is an undergraduate college and graduate school of The Pennsylvania State University, one of the largest and most widely recognized institutions of higher education in the nation. Penn State Harrisburg is located in Central Pennsylvania, in close proximity to downtown Harrisburg and the State Capital complex. It is within a two-three hour drive of metropolitan areas of Baltimore, Washington, D.C., New York City, and Philadelphia, PA.
