CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Public Administration in the Era of Collaboration
Collaboration, a growing focus of public administration, entails working
together, sharing knowledge, and generating ideas. The 2016 Northeast
Conference on Public Administration (NECoPA) is an opportunity for
academics, practitioners, and students to gather and exchange their research
and praxis regarding collaboration. We are calling for proposals from
single authors and co-authors as the first step toward that end.
Possible proposal topics include, but are not limited to:
• complexity and networks
• contracting and shared services
• criminal justice
• cross-sector governance
• ethics
• federalism
• homeland security
• healthcare
• international collaboration
• nontraditional governance structures
• performance measurement
• project management
• public-private partnerships
• stakeholder and citizen participation
• state and local governments
• strategic management and vision
The School of Public Affairs at Penn State Harrisburg welcomes your proposed
papers, panels, and posters for NECoPA 2016. Proposal submission will begin
April 1, 2016. Please submit your proposal (250 words) as an email
attachment together with a title, biographical sketch, and contact
information. Submissions should be sent to the Conference Chair, Dr. Bing
Ran, at
NECoPA2016@gmail.com.
All proposals must be submitted by June 1, 2016.
Accepted proposals will be announced by August 1, 2016.
Awards will be presented to the best academic paper, practitioner paper, and
student paper. All proposals will be reviewed by the Academic Committee
that is composed of scholars and practitioners from nine different
universities and state and federal agencies.
NECoPA 2016 will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania just minutes from our historic and beautiful State Capital,
nationally renowned Civil War Museum, our vibrant downtown, and much more.
Our surrounding areas include Hershey and its world famous chocolate;
historic Gettysburg National Military Park; Carlisle’s Army War College;
and Lancaster County, home of the Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch.
