Dear PNP members,
It is the time of the year that we start to plan our annual meeting. Our PNP membership committee is working together with the executive committee of PNP on our welcome initiatives. We need your active participation and support for these initiatives. Specifically,
We are seeking volunteers for 3 roles and here's what these are:
1. New Member Orientation & Networking Event: We need volunteers to represent our Division at both sessions on Friday, and Saturday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. This primarily involves meeting and greeting new attendees, answering their questions, and promoting our division and its activities. This is a terrific opportunity to add to your ranks! Our members can sign up here.
2. Hospitality Suite: We need volunteers from our Division to sign up for various time slots throughout the 5 days. 2012 saw over 600 new members throughout the course of 5 days joining us in the Hospitality Suite to have their questions answered. There are often many newcomers waiting on line to talk with someone, so please help us fill the gap and at the same time promote our activities with them! Our members can sign up here.
3. Adopt-a-Member Program: We are in great need of mentors. Last year's 200 mentees found this program to be extremely helpful in navigating the meeting, as well as a way to integrate into PNP's community. Full details with guidelines and sign up links can be found here. You could sign up as mentor for up to two divisions, but please choose PNP as your primary division!
If you have any logistical questions as you begin to volunteer your precious time to help new members, please feel free to contact: Bing Ran, Chair of the Member Committee, at bingran@psu.edu. We look forward to your contribution and support in fostering the PNP's newest members!
Thank you and Warm Regards,
Bing
