Innovation Conference at University of Maryland CIBER
(Please excuse cross-postings of this conference announcement)
A 2006 survey by the Conference Board found that two-thirds of the
business leaders surveyed placed global competitiveness and innovation as
their #2 and #3 strategic challenges. Clearly, globalization,
competitiveness, and innovation have lately been rising up to the top of
top management agendas in both business and government. And, yet, there is
no clear consensus on how individual firms and regional and national
governments should go about becoming more innovative ? and more globally
competitive. I am pleased to announce that we shall be exploring these
critical issues at our premier innovation conference this November.
Over 20 senior executives and scholars from the
innovation/technology/globalization domains will present cutting-edge
thinking on these themes at the conference.
§ The roles of the federal government, industry, and universities in
innovation
§ Innovation, competitiveness, and globalization
§ Open innovation models and global innovation networks
§ Corporate venture capital and innovation
§ Innovation in government
§ Innovation and economic development
§ Meeting the challenge of innovation
