International Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing
Call for Papers: Special Issue on Cases in Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector
Marketing
The rapid growth of interest in the non-profit, public and voluntary
sector marketing in the last two decades is evidenced in the inception and
growth of specialized research journals, academic programs, and books in
the area. Marketing in the nonprofit sector involves special ssues that
make it distinctive including budgetary constraints, multiplicity of goals
and audiences, and a limited appreciation of the role and importance of
marketing's organizational value and marketing concepts.
The International Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing
invites submissions for a Special Issue of the journal on cases in
nonprofit and voluntary sector marketing.
Examples of topics for cases that are suitable for the Special Issue include:
* Best practices in institutional branding, image, identity and
reputation of international agencies, cities, states, countries,
festivals, public universities, public agencies, etc.
* Successful fund-raising in the nonprofit and voluntary sectors.
* Marketing programs at national parks, museums and theaters.
* Application of marketing theory and practice from the for-profit
sector to the nonprofit or voluntary sector.
* Public-private collaboration in marketing.
* Innovative use of limited marketing resources.
Authors are encouraged to submit two-page proposals for feedback on their
case's suitability for eventual submission. Submissions should not be
presently under review, accepted for publication, or published elsewhere.
All submissions will be subject to a double-blind review in accordance
with the IJNVSM review procedures. Publication decisions will be made by
the Guest Editor in collaboration with the Editor of IJNVSM, based on the
recommendations of the reviewers.
Cases should be based on field and secondary research, and be accompanied
by a complementary teaching note that identifies the following: courses
and audiences, key concepts, background academic research and references,
teaching objectives, synopsis, discussion questions, and teaching plan.
The deadline for submissions to the Special Issue is the end of April
2010. Papers should be submitted via
http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/nvsm,
together with a cover letter indicating that they are intended for the
Special Issue. All papers will be subject to the usual refereeing
standards of the Journal.
