Special Theme-related Initiatives Unique to the 2010 meeting in Montral
Dear AOM 2010 Annual Meeting Registrant:
We are proud and pleased to announce two special initiatives at the 2010
AOM meeting in Montral.
1. YWCA Compassion Project
To support the meeting theme, the Local Arrangements Committee in
cooperation with the Montral YWCA has organized a Compassion project that
gives every member of the Academy an opportunity to "Leave a Legacy" in
Montral. I challenge our members to "Dare to Care" by participating in
this compassion project, regardless of whether or not you will be
attending the meeting in Montral. My challenge is a goal of 10,000 -
which means a gift or donation in a combination of books and clothing
(only 1 piece per person), and another goal of 10,000 in dollars (only $1
per person, and you can contribute on the YWCA website even if you are not
attending the meeting in Montral)! Let us leave a memorable legacy in
Montral by meeting our goal of 10,000. Please visit the Compassion
Montral webpage
<http://meeting.aomonline.org/2010/compassion> for many simple and easy
ways you can show your compassion to and leave a footprint in Montral.
2. A Special Theme-related Magazine

<http://program.aomonline.org/2010/pdf/AOM_2010_Theme_Magazine.pdf> Theme
Related Magazine
<http://program.aomonline.org/2010/pdf/AOM_2010_Theme_Magazine.pdf> We have
received a beautiful gift from the L'Itineraire Group
<http://www.itineraire.ca/groupe/qui_mission.php> , a charity organization
that promotes passion and compassion towards the less fortunate in Montral.
The gift is an AOM special issue of the L'Itinraire Geotourism Magazine to
celebrate this year's meeting theme. This is in addition to our regular
meeting program. This full color magazine will feature a variety of AOM
theme-related activities and sessions. This special theme-related magazine
<http://program.aomonline.org/2010/pdf/AOM_2010_Theme_Magazine.pdf> is now
available on the AOM meeting website. Please browse it for all the special
selections of theme-related sessions for your enjoyment. The magazine also
has information about the YWCA project as well as how you can help the
L'Itineraire cause. The printed version will have information about the
Montral city with articles about its geo-conscious businesses and many
extraordinary city attractions. You will receive a copy of this special
magazine at the conference registration desk. We hope you will find it
worthy to keep as a remembrance of the 2010 AOM meeting with the theme of
Dare to Care: Passion and Compassion in Management Practice and Research.
We are very excited about these two initiatives and hope you will
enthusiastically support the YWCA Compassion project. Please go to your
bookshelf to pick out one or two books to bring to Montral now, and to
remember to bring one or two pieces of clothing as you pack your suitcase
to come to Montral. Make this meeting a special one for yourself by
leaving a piece of your heart in the passionate and compassionate city of
Montral.
