The Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at the IUPUI campus seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking candidates (ABD may be considered) with broad interests in public management, policy, and governance. Disciplinary background is open, but preference will be given to candidates with rigorous, quantitative methodological training and substantive research interests related to campus strengths in areas of public and nonprofit management, health administration and policy, or criminal justice and public safety. The successful candidate will have strong analytic capabilities and both interest in and commitment to working on externally funded projects. The candidate also will be expected to collaborate with faculty in SPEA's Center for Urban Policy and the Environment, Center for Health Policy, or proposed Center for Criminal Justice Policy. This faculty member will teach graduate public management and other courses in SPEA IUPUI's graduate and undergraduate public affairs programs.
SPEA is a multi-disciplinary, university-wide division of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Indiana</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype></st1:place>, established as a professional school committed to excellence in teaching, research, and civic engagement, that addresses critical issues of public management and policy. With more than 100 faculty on eight campuses, SPEA is the largest school in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">United States</st1:country-region></st1:place> offering programs in public affairs. SPEA IUPUI programs in criminal justice and nonprofit management are ranked third and fourth in the nation, respectively, by U.S. News and World Reports, and SPEA is home to the only accredited Master of Health Administration program in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:state w:st="on">Indiana</st1:state></st1:place>. The research portfolio of SPEA IUPUI faculty exceeds more than $5 million in innovative projects with state and local governments and federal and philanthropic foundations. SPEA IUPUI is located in thriving downtown <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Indianapolis</st1:city></st1:place> within walking distance of the state capitol and several museums and sports facilities.
