    Colleagues,

The Academy of Management has just published a report:

"Measuring and Achieving Scholarly Impact:  A Report from the Academy of Management's Practice Theme Committee". The full report and a summary of findings (including major audiences for research, major indicators of scholarly impact, geographic breakdowns on measures, etc.) is available herehttp://aom.org/About-AOM/StrategicPlan/Scholarly-Impact-Report.aspx

The project consisted of two interrelated parts: a qualitative study and quantitative survey on scholarly impact, and its meaning to the AOM's various constituencies.  A team of about 30 worked on this report for about three years.  To the best of my knowledge, the report constitutes the first time a major academic association has undertaken a systematic, empirical inquiry of this nature – so kudos to the AOM for supporting it; and, to the team for working on it till completion.

I wish you all Happy Holidays!

    Best,

    Usha
