| Job Description | The School of Public Administration (SPA) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applicants for a 9-month, tenured associate professor or tenure track assistant professor position with a start date of January 2019 or August 2019. The successful candidate will join a dynamic faculty to engage in research, seek external funding, and teach online and face-to-face classes at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral level in the nonprofit management and public administration degree programs. Professional and community-engaged service will be significant aspects of the position, as well. The School of Public Administration offers a NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration and Master of Nonprofit Management (first nonprofit management program in the world accredited by NASPAA), a PAB-accredited Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning, undergraduate public administration, nonprofit management, and emergency management degrees, and graduate and undergraduate certificate programs or minors in emergency management and homeland security, nonprofit management, public administration, and urban and regional planning. The school participates in a multidisciplinary Ph.D. in Public Affairs and has university approval to develop a Ph.D. in Nonprofit Management. The School of Public Administration has one of the largest PA programs in the Southeast, with active partnerships with state and local government and community nonprofit agencies. The school is housed in the College of Community Innovation and Education and will occupy a brand-new state-of-the-art facility with access to fully equipped multimedia classrooms at UCF Downtown Orlando effective fall 2019. The faculty member's academic home will be the School of Public Administration-one of the leading and most innovative schools in the country and the editorial home of Public Administration Review, Health and Human Services Administration, and Administrative Theory and Praxis. The selected candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with researchers from multiple disciplines across the university. UCF is a thriving research university located in metropolitan Orlando. | Position Minimum Qualifications | Applicants must have a Ph.D., by the time of appointment, from an accredited institution in nonprofit management, public administration, public policy, political science, social work, economics, management, or closely related fields. Candidates must have an active research agenda as demonstrated by recent peer-reviewed publications, published books, manuscripts being revised for resubmission, manuscripts under review, working papers and book manuscripts, and/or research conference presentations. Candidates must have the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in philanthropy, ethics, nonprofit board governance, and/or nonprofit management and governance. In order to obtain tenure, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research and service commensurate with rank. |
