    Greetings,
My name is Brian Tate. I am a graduate student in the
Industrial/Organizational Psychology program at Penn State University. I
have emailed you to ask for your help with my dissertation. The project is
attempting to determine the dimensions of negative (or destructive)
leadership as a construct, build a measure of negative leadership, and
provide some information about the validity of that measure. So far, I have
completed the first two objectives but am still working on the last point.

To that end, I would like to ask for your help with the study by completing
an online survey (a link to which is below). The survey includes questions
about your general working experience and about your experiences with two
managers/supervisor/leaders in particular. Depending on which portions of
the survey you take (you will be prompted to complete specific portions
depending on your answers to background questions), completing the survey
could take approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

In return for completing the survey, I would be glad to share results of the
study with you. Also, as we all do about our research and/or work, I do
feel that this is an important study with implications for both research and
practice, especially regarding the behavior of people in positions of power
and supervisor/subordinate, leader/follower relations, and I would very much
    value your contribution.

Here is a link to the survey (you may have to copy-and-paste the address to
    you web address bar):

Let me know if you have any questions.
    Thanks very much,
    Brian
