Dr. Jon Briscoe is Professor and Chair in the Department of Management at Northern Illinois University. His research centers around careers, primarily protean careers, and comparative careers across cultures, in addition to leadership development and value expression. He is a Co-Founder of the 5C group (5c.careers)-the Cross-Cultural Collaboration on Contemporary Careers which began in 2004. The group has research teams in over 30 countries, has published a book called Careers Around the World, and published several articles on comparative careers across cultures. Dr. Briscoe teaches classes in International Management, Leadership, Coaching, and Organizational Change.
Dr. Rick Cotton is an Associate Professor of Talent Management and Sustainable Innovation at University of Victoria, British Columbia. Rick's primary research interests include career success, developmental networks talent management, and cross-cultural management. He earned a BS in Management Information Systems and Marketing from Syracuse University and MS and PhD in Organization Studies from Boston College. He is the 2021-22 Academy of Management Careers Division Chair-Elect, a principal co-investigator on the GLOBE 2020 project (https://www.globeproject.com/), and a 5C (https://5c.careers/) researcher. He's published in journals including AMJ, JIBS, JOB, HBR, Sloan Management Review, HRM, HRMJ, IJHRM, ENTP, and CDI. Rick has worked internationally, been a change management consultant and HR SVP and his clients have included Aetna, BC Ferries, General Electric, Hay Group, Harbour Air, Intercultural Association of Greater Victoria, Pepsi, Tourism Victoria, United Technologies, and several other services-based firms, governmental entities, and multinationals.
Dr. Mila Lazarova is the Canada Research Chair in Global Workforce Management and a Professor of International Management at the Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University. Her research interests include global mobility and global careers, organizational career development and mobility practices in organizations; expatriate management, repatriation, knowledge transfer, career impact and work/life balance issues related to assignments; the changing role of the HR department; comparative human resource management; and HR issues related to workplace integration of highly skilled immigrants. Mila has published in journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Organizational Science, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, and Human Resource Management Journal. Mila is a Consulting Editor at Journal of World Business and sits on several other editorial boards.
