Dear colleagues,
Please join us for a PDW on Leading Social Impact and Sustainability Centers on Saturday 5 August, 2:30-5pm in the Boston Park Plaza, Cambridge Room, Conference Level, 4th Floor.
The purpose of the PDW is to foster dialogue and build community among leaders of social entrepreneurship, social impact, and sustainability centers and institutes. Anyone interested in leading social impact and sustainability centers is welcome to attend – the PDW is not limited to current center leaders.
We will focus on three core issues:
- Mainstreaming impact and sustainability: As social impact and sustainability become mainstream within business schools, how are centers adapting? What challenges and opportunities does this present?
- Combining rigor and relevance: How are centers combining research, education, and public engagement? What does this entail in terms of structures, roles, and programs?
- Managing careers: How does center leadership fit within the arc of faculty careers? How do center directors balance administrative leadership with their research and teaching?
We have a fantastic group of panellists lined up (see below), and we have allocated plenty of time for roundtable discussions for participants to share experiences and insights about these issues and different approaches to addressing them.
Co-organizers: Marya Besharov and Susanna Kislenko, University of Oxford Saïd Business School
Panellists:
- Jason Jay, MIT Sloan
- Anne-Laure Fayard, NOVA School of Business and Economics
- Jury Gualandris, Ivey Business School
- Gary Painter, University of Cincinnati Lindner College of Business
- Katherine Klein, Wharton
