The Best Dissertation Award Selection Committee for the Public and Nonprofit (PNP) Division of the Academy of Management requests nominations for the Division's 2026 Best Dissertation Award.

Nominations should be submitted by the dissertation committee chair or other committee member; self-nominations will not be accepted. The nomination should include two items: (1) An electronic copy of the dissertation (PDF preferred), and (2) An electronic copy of a signed nomination letter (PDF preferred) from the dissertation committee chair or other committee member.

Nominations should be submitted no later than February 28, 2026. Please send nominations to the Committee chair, Alexander Kroll at akroll@fiu.edu.

This dissertation award recognizes important academic work and high-quality intellectual contributions to the PNP fields. Nominated dissertations that make contributions to the understanding of management in the public and nonprofit arenas will be considered. The best dissertation award winner will receive an award of $500 (USD).

Only dissertations defended during the 2025 calendar year are eligible for consideration and we aim for global reach (ie, PhD theses defended anywhere in the world are eligible).
