    Economists' Philosophy Day 2026

The Economists' Philosophy Day 2026, organised by the Journal of Philosophical Economics in partnership with the Research Center for the History and Circulation of Philosophical Ideas (University of Bucharest), invites scholars to reflect on the philosophical foundations of economic reasoning under conditions of deep uncertainty. Held online on 19 November 2026, in celebration of UNESCO's World Philosophy Day, the event will feature plenary sessions dedicated to philosophical reflection on economic science.

This year's theme, "Acting in the Unknown: Rationality Across Space and Time," explores how individuals, institutions, and artificial agents make decisions in environments shaped by complexity, temporal constraints, and spatial interdependence. Contributions from philosophy, economics, management, ethics, and decision theory are welcome. Proposals of approximately 500 words are due by 24 April 2026 and should be sent to editor@jpe.ro and Pascal.Stiefenhofer@newcastle.ac.uk.
